Origin
The story of Theodoros
Theodoros keeps 17 February — the Great Martyr Theodore the Tyro (“the Recruit”). A second, movable day, the Saturday of St Theodore in Lent, is kept too; Greek practice displays both.
The name is a small prayer of thanks. Θεόδωρος joins θεός (theós, “god”) and δῶρον (dōron, “gift”) — “the gift of God.”
“The gift of God.”

Theodoros at a glance
This name keeps more than one day. At least one of them is a movable feast — its date is set relative to Pascha (Orthodox Easter), which itself shifts each year, so that day changes from year to year. The remaining day (or days) are fixed calendar dates and do not move. onomasti computes the observed date for every year.
